Lan Kwai Fong Hotel @ Kau U Fong

We were given the smallest room in the property even though we'd paid for a larger one. After we complained about the mismatch with the online photos, they eventually moved us to the room we'd booked. On check-in night, though, they wouldn't let us leave the property when we said the rooms didn't look like the pictures at all. The hotel is advertised as four stars, the same rating as the JW marriott and conrad, but it felt like a one- or two-star place at best. The place was old, dirty and poorly kept, with an odor throughout. Our first room smelled as though someone had recently smoked in it. Dust covered the window treatments, the wallpaper was peeling, the door lock barely latched, and the shower was grimy. The hallway carpets were stained and worn, and there were obvious signs of some kind of infestation, possibly bed bugs or something similar. The website and Amex Travel photos appear to have been photoshopped. It isn't worth the price or a four-star rating. Stay somewhere else.

I booked very late through Agoda.com because I had a layover in Hong Kong. When I arrived to check in at 1:00am on September 29, Mr. Sam Yuen said it wasn't possible because I should have booked from the 28-29, not the 29-30. But it was already 12:30am on September 29 when I made the booking, and that option wasn't available. He said that meant all rooms were booked. I asked whether they were all booked right then, at 1:10am, and he said no. He ended up making me pay another 116$ for a room that night so I wouldn't have to sleep outside like a homeless person. The service was terrible from the moment I walked in, and I wouldn't recommend this place.

The hotel sits downtown, making it easy to walk to well-known Yum Cha and Dim Sum restaurants, as well as cultural and historic places like Tai Kwun. I found the staff hospitable and the hotel clean, and the price was economical. Hong Kong station is about 15 minutes away on foot via IFC(international financial center) and the outdoor hillside escalators. The surrounding roads are narrow, so finding the entrance can be tricky. Turn left at the corner of lin heung lang restaurants, and you'll see the hotel on your right.

Worst hotel I've ever stayed in 😫. The room and bathroom were way too small, even for a baby 👶, and the bed hurt my back. I lasted two nights before leaving. I've never said this about a hotel before. If you want to lose your money, time and health, come here. You can twins bed l8ke queen bed hhhhh
