Rosedale Hotel Hong Kong

The staff made things easy throughout our stay. Reception helped us figure out the airport bus, and they kept our bags while we waited to leave. One housekeeper also noticed our two beds had been pushed together and adjusted them to close the gap, which was thoughtful. My request for one large bed hadn’t been recorded, though. Causeway Bay was handy for getting around. The MTR, shops, Bakehouse, and Hysan Place were all walkable, and Victoria Park was about five minutes away for a quick run since the gym only had one treadmill and was small. The A11 stop on Kingston Street was under ten minutes away. We paid HK$41 each for the bus instead of HK$85 for the Airport Express, and wished we’d known to take the bus to the hotel too. The interiors felt dated, like the '90s, but everything was clean and looked after. The bathroom was spacious, though there was no bidet, which is common in Hong Kong. We skipped the included breakfast in favor of onigiri from Hana-Musubi, one of our favorite stops. Rosedale Hotel was comfortable, affordable, and accessible, and we’d stay there again.

The lobby is lovely and the customer service was the best part. The hotel has great amenities and is close to the metro, with plenty of buses passing nearby. My room was on the small side, but it had everything I needed. Breakfast was the letdown for me: the coffee was awful, and there wasn’t much to choose from.

Breakfast was average at best, though the price is worth keeping in mind. The building is older but very well maintained, and the reception team, hotel staff, and housekeeping were all great. It’s a short walk to causeway bay. I’d definitely stay again.

The room was clean, comfortable, and roomy enough for two people and their bags. Staff were very professional, and there are lots of restaurants nearby. Shelter Street tram station is just a short walk away. At check-in, they require a HK$500 credit-card deposit. Debit cards aren’t accepted. Hong Kong has outlawed disposable toiletries in hotel rooms as a sustainability measure, but you can buy them for a reasonable price. Shower gel and shampoo are provided. Breakfast is buffet style, with options including toast, pastries, cereal, salad, noodles, and Western dishes.
