Staff were really helpful and patient about looking after our requests. There’s a Starbucks in the lobby, and the breakfast buffet was well laid out with lots of vegetarian and non-vegetarian choices. We had plenty of places to eat within walking distance, and the location is near the ferry terminal and marketplace. Trams and buses connect well, and the MRT is close too. The rooms are a bit small, but given the location and convenience, that’s a fair trade-off.

The beds are quite firm, and there’s nowhere to sit apart from the bed, so bear that in mind if you’re staying more than a couple of days. We were allowed to check in early, at 10am instead of 2pm, which was a great treat. The location is great. Coming from the airport, take the bus instead of the train because it stops around the corner from the hotel. If you’re on holiday, it’s worth getting the included breakfast for a good start to the morning.

The Harbourfront View was worth paying extra for. Looking out over the water was great in both daytime and at night. The room was small but just right for one person, and the main area was clean and fairly modern. The bathroom felt dated, with chipped parts on the door frame and a shelf that hadn’t been wiped. The location was okay, though getting to the main Central sights, like the escalator area and Star Ferry ride, took about a 20 minute walk or a quick tram or bus trip. There’s a nice waterfront walk for getting back and forth, but it can add time. I’d still recommend it if the price was good.

From our window on the 26 floor, the harbour view was astonishing. The room was designed very comfortably, and the shower room was nice. Water pressure was high, which made showering a pleasure, something that’s not easy to find these days with water rationing. I recommend this hotel without hesitation.
