Reception staff Alex was helpful, pointing us toward places we wanted to visit and recommending tasty food nearby. We stayed six nights and were comfortable. The location is convenient, under five minutes on foot from Sheung Wan MTR, with McDonalds within five minutes and local food spots less than ten minutes away. There’s a PC in the lobby and a comfortable outdoor seating area, even at night. They also have a self-service laundry machine. You just need to buy a token and detergent pod from reception.

The counter staff were great, and there are lots of eateries nearby. Sheung Wan MTR is less than a 10-minute walk. The room was clean. This was my second stay, after 10 years. The pillows were too soft, but okay for a few nights, and the bed was firm and good.

It’s a quiet neighbourhood, but finding food isn’t a problem. Sheung Wan MTR is a 5-8 minute walk, and it’s a good spot for catching the electric tram. Check-in and checkout were easy. I wouldn’t mind staying here again.

On October 8, I went to the front desk for help and a male staff member wearing glasses clearly had no interest in being courteous or helpful. His tone was condescending, his replies abrupt, and he showed no patience. That’s unacceptable in hospitality, especially from someone who seemed more senior than his colleague. What made it more frustrating was that he couldn’t communicate effectively or resolve my issue. Someone in that position should have the experience and emotional intelligence to treat guests with respect and empathy. Instead, his rude, uncooperative manner made things worse. I was relieved I only had to stay one night, or that staff member would have ruined the good mood I had for my trip in HK.

Hi IDOL, Thanks so much for patiently helping me set up my SIM card. The instructions were all in Chinese and I was completely lost, but you made something that felt impossible suddenly easy. You went out of your way to help with something beyond ordinary hotel service, and your kindness made a real difference to my stay. The hotel itself was a huge disappointment. The rooms were very, very small, with no fresh air. There were no coffee sachets, oven, washing machine, or bottled water for drinking, which was my main concern. Breakfast was just bread and a juice option, with one juice. For the money we paid, we could get a much better option. Worst hotel. Don’t stay here.
