Travelodge Kowloon

Being in the middle of Kowloon made this stay really convenient. The MTR was only minutes away, and shops and restaurants were close by, so getting around Hong Kong was easy. We were comfortable in the room and had no problems during our stay. The hotel does feel a little old and could use some updating. Still, it was a good stay, and the location made it great value.

The location was decent, and we got here quickly by taxi from the bullet train station, which was very close. We stayed Friday through Monday in late November 2025, but the room didn’t meet expectations. The hotel felt very sparse. They don’t offer laundry themselves, though they give guests a 10% laundry service at the business next door. UK outlets are used here. Hot water was a problem. It was lukewarm at best, nowhere near hot enough. The shower had just one kind of soap, and unlike the 3-star hotels we’d stayed at in mainland China, there was no shampoo or body wash. Only two bath towels were provided, so we had to ask the front desk for hand towels.

The room was basic and the bed uncomfortable, so it felt a bit pricey for what you get. Reception staff were pleasant. Toiletries are available for $2.

The friendly staff were always ready to help with a smile, and Jordan MTR station was just minutes away, which made getting around easy. There’s a 7-11 and some good local places to eat right outside, handy for late-night cravings or a quick breakfast. We also found the Hong Kong West Kowloon High-Speed Railway station surprisingly easy to reach after a pleasant walk before 10 am, and took a day trip to Guangzhou. For Macao, there’s a direct bus from Jordan Station, or a quick taxi to China Ferry Terminal for the ferry. Travelodge was a great find through Agoda. The style reminded me of budget hotels I’ve stayed in Japan, which felt familiar and reassuring. It made a convenient base for exploring Hong Kong and its neighbors.
