B&B Mongkok Hotel

We found the bed comfortable, with two pillows and a comforter, and the room had its own bathroom with a hot shower. It was a double room for six days and five nights, and the size felt about average for a Hong Kong flat. There were a few stains around, and the air conditioner was very cold but not especially clean. Those were minor issues for us. An extension cord was provided, so we didn’t need travel adaptors. Drinking water was available for free, but the disposable bath towel needs to be requested each day, so bringing your own may be better. Getting around was easy: the place is beside a bus stop, near the MTR, and within walking distance of fast food, bakeries, groceries, malls, restaurants, and Ladies' Night Market. The building has three elevators, although one sometimes wasn’t working, which seemed to be a building maintenance issue. It did what we needed, somewhere to rest after walking all day and take a hot shower. Just keep expectations modest if you’re on a tight budget.

We left after just one night, even though we’d booked three nights for our family. With children, we didn’t feel safe staying on. The room was on the 16th floor of a building shared by other accommodations, and it was tiny, dirty, and strongly smelled of cigarettes despite the no-smoking sign. Guests outside our door were loud, drunk, and arguing during the night. There was no staff or security available to help, and we were kept awake until around 3:30 a.m. Someone banged on our door at about 3:00, which frightened us, and someone also tried to open our friends’ room across the hall. The towels were only disposable, paper-like ones, which was very disappointing. We checked out the next morning to find another hotel and feel we wasted our money. We wouldn’t recommend this place.

There was no front desk staff or security around when we needed help, and the nights were chaotic. From 11 PM until 3 AM, people were knocking loudly on doors, shouting, and behaving drunkenly right outside our room. It went on constantly and felt aggressive and stressful while we were trying to sleep. The room itself was extremely tiny, dirty, and inconvenient, making the stay miserable from the start. We had booked three nights but couldn’t stay through them, so it felt like a complete waste of money. If getting a decent night's sleep, peace of mind, or safety matters to you, I’d stay somewhere else. I absolutely wouldn’t book this hotel again.

It’s centrally placed, with easy access to Disneyland, the cable cars, Citygate, other spots, and the airport by train. As a low-budget room, it’s okay for sleeping well, but don’t expect a hotel-style room.
