Ramada Hong Kong Grand

The room felt dated and wasn't as clean as I'd hoped, though for the price I can't really complain. It was small, too. What I loved was the location and how friendly and helpful the staff were. The metro and bus are just a few minutes away, and they even lend out plugs for free.

The room could use a refresh. It was worn, cramped for two, and dim at night, and the dirty window glass spoiled what might have been a nice view. Still, the price was good, the location was excellent, just five minutes from Jordan MTR, and the staff were friendly and very helpful.

The staff were efficient and helpful. They brought us a USB adapter, replaced a burnt-out light bulb, and apologized when they came to clean while my boyfriend was still asleep. The service was very straightforward, without sugar coating or warm smiles. That's the essence of Hong Kong. Dusting wasn't done well. Dust had built up on the wall cushions and on top of the mini fridge, so anyone with dust allergies might want to avoid staying here. The shower pressure was good, but the shampoo and conditioner weren't. The conditioner was bubbly for some reason, though it wasn't a big deal. We asked for one bed together at check-in, but on the first morning we found two beds pushed together under one big sheet. You could feel the hard piece of wood down the middle, making it difficult to roll over or cuddle. It was still comfortable to sleep on.

The carpet in the room had a really strong odor, which was the main downside. The room itself was small, as you'd expect in Hong Kong, but it had a good shower, Wi-Fi, and a fridge, plus a firm bed and little hallway noise. The location was excellent, close to everything you need in HKG, and the check-in staff were friendly and spoke good English.
