New World Millennium Hong Kong Hotel

I liked the spacious room for one, the professional service, and the gym had the essential equipment. The lounge bar was especially good, with a wine list that was more than reasonably priced, though it probably needs updating more often. There were two problems that felt unacceptable for a five-star hotel. I had no hot water for a shower on my first day, but after I spoke to the hotel, it was fixed the next day. The other issue was stranger. I left a bottle of Solaia 2011 in my room to drink that night, and when I came back the next day, a third of it was gone. The hotel told me housekeeping hadn’t even noticed a wine bottle in the room. That was a very expensive tip, I’d say. I probably won’t stay here again, though I’ll come back to the lounge bar.

The staff made the biggest impression on me. Someone came out to help with my luggage right when I entered the lobby, and at checkout they helped again and loaded it into my Uber. I sat down to relax and, when I got my luggage card, a staff member brought my bags right over to my chair so I didn’t have to walk to them. Everyone was polite, professional, and attentive. I’d call it a five-star hotel with a six-star experience. A special thank you to Bobby Tse. I didn’t have to queue at the counter at checkout because he came to me and handled everything smoothly. He asked for feedback, and I mentioned that the floor lamp in my 14th-floor club access room wasn’t working and the door lock was slow, usually taking about a minute to open. They didn’t bother me much, except that at night I had to read by the bedside lamp instead of in the lovely chair by the window. I hadn’t reported them earlier, but wanted to help the next guest. Bobby carefully wrote everything down, then recognized me when I passed the hotel about four hours after checkout and told me the issues had already been fixed. I was impressed they resolved them so quickly and followed up. It was my first stay, and I’d recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Hong Kong for business or leisure. I chose it for its Tsim Sha Tsui (TST) location in a relatively quiet area surrounded by other hotels, and the modern lobby looked great. The bathtub and separate shower were a welcome change from hotels with only showers, and the Wi-Fi was very easy to connect to and extremely fast, making it a good choice for business. The one small downside is that it’s not right in the center of TST, so you may have to walk a bit from the MTR station. Everything else was fantastic, and it’ll be my first choice next time I’m in Hong Kong.

We were celebrating a birthday and received a complimentary cake and greeting card, which we really appreciated. The harbour view was awesome, and the hotel is a short walk from Tsim Sha Shui MTR. You can also walk along the promenade to the hotel and enjoy the beautiful HK skyline. Before we even entered the hotel, staff hurried out to help with our luggage. Wow.

The location is very good and the staff are nice, especially Mr Raymond Chief concierge. We hadn’t actually booked this hotel for our trip. We were accidentally dropped off in its lobby, and I appreciated the Concierge helping us move our luggage to the hotel next door.
