Pearl Premium Guest House

Our room had a fridge and a working TV, though it only showed local channels. There was free water and an oven for shared use on our floor, and the shower had good pressure and hot water. The bed was made, the room cleaned, and towels changed daily. Everything was super clean, even though both the room and bathroom were tiny. The Indian receptionist was very helpful. I’d stay again if I visit Hong Kong, and recommend it. Just send a message the day before to ask for the exact location, as it can be difficult to find. They often didn’t respond to questions. We booked a twin room for two, thinking it would give us more space, but I’d choose the double room with a window instead. We reserved Pearl Premium Guesthouse, but the management runs several guesthouses and assigned us to Manila Guesthouse, so this review is about Manila Guesthouse. The business is in Mirador Mansion, a prime location that fit our budget. The building is easy to get into, but finding reception and the rooms isn’t: their locations keep changing, and we got no advance instructions. The odd and even floor lifts are confusing, and we waited a long time each time we changed floors. It took us about 35-40 minutes to reach our room.

The building only has two elevators, one for odd floors and one for even floors, and they serve both passengers and service needs. They fill up fast because they have a small capacity, so the wait can be long. Sometimes the line takes 2-3 round trips before you get on. Check-in is on the 16th floor, and your room may be on another floor depending on the reservation. This isn’t for anyone expecting luxury amenities. We had a comfortable 4D3N stay at Pearl Premium Guest House. It’s budget friendly, in a great spot near the MTR, buses, TST sights, shops, and restaurants. Our room was smaller than a regular hotel room, but I expected worse. It was enough for me and my mom to move around, and the comforter felt so good. We had a private bathroom and a window looking onto the streets of Tsim Sha Tsui. The room was maintained with daily cleaning. The shower had a heater, toiletries were provided, towels were changed daily, and the garbage was taken out every day. There was a water dispenser, microwave, and electric kettle outside the rooms, plus a fridge in our room. The TV had local channels. The Filipina attendant/receptionist was welcoming. So far, so good.

We were on the 7th floor. The hairdryer didn’t work, the restroom door was broken, and housekeeping took our towel without leaving a fresh one. Since the room phone was out of order, we had to go between the 7th and 16th floor, where the owner is, just to follow up on our request. Such a hassle.

It’s on Floor 16 of Mirador Mansion Apartment. The room was neat but small, and the toilet was so cramped it was hard to sit down. There was no kettle, and they could provide an extension socket for charging a phone. It was hard to find, with no directions anywhere.
