The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong

We were blown away by our few days at The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong, and the views were breathtaking. The staff arranged a room with a stunning panorama of Victoria Harbour and the skyscrapers. The pool was huge and has one of the best views of Hong Kong. Housekeeping were helpful throughout. Dining was world-class. We had incredible meals at Tin Lung Heen and the Italian restaurant, Tosca di Angelo. Many thanks to the breakfast team and Kezia for fresh waffles and delicious Indonesian omelettes. We’d definitely return.

The hotel is a great sanctuary from the city bustle, with amazing views of HK. It was a fantastic last night in HK: outstanding breakfast choices, a great room, a gym and pool, and a lounge among the best we’ve experienced. The spa has an amazing view of HK island. For club members, there’s even a limo shuttle to the Kowloon area. The AirPort Express is super convenient, just 3 levels below, and gets you to the airport in 20 min. ICC has a nice high-end shopping and dining area, so you don’t have to eat at the hotel. We were a bit disappointed by dinner at the Chinese restaurant. Maybe the atmosphere and service are Michelin stars worthy, but some dishes were substandard.

The direct link to the mall and the high speed train toward Mainland China is really practical. The upper-floor spa is outstanding, and breakfast has a sensational view. I’d like a little more western variety at breakfast, but everything tasted good and we certainly didn’t leave hungry. I’d first had a cocktail at Ozone Bar in 2017 and loved the view from the top. Since then, staying at The Ritz-Carlton on a return to Hong Kong had been a personal goal, and this time it finally happened. Expectations were high, and check-in went smoothly. We were allowed to arrive early and got a beautiful room; its size, materials, equipment, and very spacious bathroom all met expectations. It’s an experience I think you can treat yourself to at least once.

The pool has a perfect temperature, is extremely clean, and has 2 jacuzzis plus one cold pool. The sunset and Hong Kong’s iconic 270 angle harbour view right beneath your toes are a must try. I live in HK and swim there from time to time. The pool side service has left such a superb, lasting impression that I stayed at the Ritz Millenium when visiting Singapore. Manager Jeremy is warm and welcoming, and made me feel comfortable swimming there. He and his team have a perfect way of welcoming guests: they bring towels before you need to ask, and someone is always on hand without disturbing your privacy or time alone. The cleaning ladies in the changing area kept it v near and tidy.
