The Mira Hong Kong

Housekeeping were friendly and helpful, and the room was reasonably large by HK standards. We could fit two fully opened 28" suitcases. The hotel’s location is strategic, with an MTR entrance within walking distance, so maybe that’s what the price is for. Reception service could be better: no greetings, a flat tone, and no explanations. It didn’t feel like the Marriott service we usually get, especially after coming from Macau, where the difference was very apparent. Water pressure was very low in the morning, and the rain shower was more like a drizzle, though the hand shower was okay. Soundproofing from the door and corridor was poor. We had a corner room, and I can’t imagine how noisy it might be near the lift lobby. The double-layered window glass did reduce outside window noise to a minimum. Also, the toilet lid had no slow-close, which gave us a shock the first time, lol.

The Mira Hong Kong had a lively, warm feel when we visited over Christmas, thanks in part to the hotel’s beautiful seasonal decorations in the lobby. We had a pleasant stay overall. Our room was a reasonable size by Hong Kong standards, with a nice park view. The gym was modern and well equipped, though it got a bit busy at peak times. There’s also a lovely pool, but we didn’t get to use it. Getting around was easy: subway stations, buses, Harbour City, street shopping, and lots of restaurants were nearby. Breakfast was included and appreciated. It was a large buffet with fresh, well-stocked Western and Asian options, plenty to choose from, and a good start to the day. We’re Marriott Titanium Elite members, but The Mira is a Marriott partner hotel, not a fully integrated Marriott property. Elite benefits are limited, so we didn’t get an upgrade or lounge access. Keep that in mind if those perks matter to you. It’s a stylish, well-located hotel with good amenities and a lively atmosphere.

For a predictable, stress-free stay, this Marriott-brand hotel is a dependable choice. It’s clean and well maintained, both in the rooms and shared areas, and everything is organized and functional. The convenient location makes it easy to get around for sightseeing or business. It isn’t flashy, but the brand’s consistency means you can expect a comfortable stay without many surprises.

I requested a two-bedroom ahead of my two-night stay, and they were able to arrange it. The room was a little old but clean. The shower pressure was very weak, and the bathroom door was misaligned so it wouldn’t fully close. There was an adapter in the room, which came in handy. Breakfast came with my Platinum benefit. It was just okay, neither particularly good nor bad. I found plenty of interesting restaurants nearby, so didn’t use the hotel dining much. The location was great, and direct elevator access to the basement-level Don Quijote was really convenient. The price was relatively affordable compared with other Marriott properties, but I didn’t think the value was all that good.
