Hotel Real Camino Lenca

We were in Gracias, Honduras with my family to visit the thermal waters, and had planned to stay overnight and see the town. The business's Google photos showed rooms that looked completely different, with a pool, so we booked and headed there. We arrived late, eager to get to the thermal waters and spend as much time there as possible. In our excitement we didn't check the room first. By the time we saw how poor it looked, it was too late to leave and find somewhere else. Maybe the place had once been in good shape and highly recommended, but that wasn't our experience. The ceiling had mold, and although there was warm water, it pooled quickly and was dirty. The toilet seat and sink were broken, pieces of the door frame were coming apart, and there was only one outlet to share with the TV. There was NO WI-FI, either. The curtains were very dusty, and there was no pool, despite the photos posted by the business. It felt like a total scam because the pictures didn't match what to expect. At check-in, they copied the information from our passports and gave us a slip of paper for a free breakfast. At night, the music was so loud we couldn't sleep, and the uncomfortable beds didn't help. We got up early hoping for coffee and a quick bite, but that was awful too. The small cafetería was dirty and gloomy, with roaches crawling around the kitchen area. The women cooking didn't have any kind of uniform, and everything looked unhygienic. There's no parking on site, so expect to leave the car farther down the street. It's a shame the place is like this, since it's in an area with lots of small businesses selling clothes, food, drinks, and more. Such an awful experience 😞
