Apartments Zlatko

The water view from one balcony and the short walk to the beach, café, and restaurant were the only real positives for us. Both balconies were tiny and opened onto a busy road, so the traffic noise carried on through the day and night. We stayed in Apartment Zltko Delic in Ika during week 29. It looked like the photos, but inside it was very worn, poorly furnished, and seemed neglected. Dust and dirt were everywhere, and the supposedly clean sheets had long human and dog hairs on them. The towels and tea towels were stained and covered in animal hair too, which made the apartment feel unhygienic. The loft where our children were meant to sleep got uncomfortably hot, almost sauna-like, because the air conditioning couldn't cool it. One toilet smelled strongly of urine, and the shower cubicle was so dirty, with mold, that it seemed like a health risk. We can't recommend this place. I hope the landlord improves the cleanliness, upkeep, and facilities.

It felt like a regular-sized apartment had been divided into something smaller, with no real comfort or privacy. The place is very dated and overpriced, with thin walls, old showers, and old sofas. You can even feel it move when cars drive by. Customer service and the general conditions were poor.

The apartment has a stylish look and is well equipped, including a TV, washing machine, and large fridge with freezer. A restaurant is right below, and next door there's excellent fast food serving local dishes for just a few crowns (kun 😉). The sea view is lovely, and the beach is close. You can walk along the coast either way toward Ičići, Opatija, or Lovran, with plenty of little places among the rocks to lie down.

Ika is a peaceful spot, and the apartment is right in the town center, in a two-story house beside another hotel. There's a supermarket with a bakery across the road, while the beach, a restaurant, and a beach bar are only a few meters away. The beach is pebbly, then turns sandy after a few meters, and the water is crystal clear. Ičići and Lovran are both about 1.5 kilometers away. Opatija is nearby too and worth a visit.
