The room was very basic, and in summer the only thing to cool it down is a fan, so it can get pretty hot. Still, the place was quiet, I felt safe, and the host was friendly. Check-in was easy, and the bathroom was clean when I visited, though it wasn't the best and there was a smell despite what looked like recent painting. I only stayed one night, so I can't say how it would be for longer. Having a private room and bathroom for the price is a plus. It's a well-located hostel in Budapest, near restaurants and a Lidl. You get what you pay for.

The location worked well for me, but I wouldn't book here again. Of the three hotels and rooms I've stayed in in Budapest, the other two were nicer and cost the same. The walls are thin, so you hear traffic as well as other guests. The whole bathroom gets wet when you shower, and the stairs up to the bed area look poorly built, with big gaps between the treads on the curve.

I stayed back in October, and the mattress was just a thin piece of foam. The bathroom is horrendous, the rooms are dusty, and the kitchen smells bad. The bathroom pictures speak for themselves. My review on booking.com was removed or not approved, so I'm reposting here. I'm not sure how the place still has such high ratings everywhere.

This seems like a new place, with a quiet, calm hostel and pleasant, spacious rooms. I had a room to myself, and the location is perfect. I left my laptop charger behind, and the manager took the time to mail it to me. I'm very happy about that.

The staff were really friendly, and a very late check-in wasn't a problem. Everything was very clean, and the location is good.
