The City Residences

The staff made the biggest impression on our weekend with a large group in Budapest. They were friendly, helpful, patient, and accommodating. I left my phone in the taxi to the airport, which I'd booked through the hotel, and Andrew in particular worked with the team to get it back to me in the UK. They were honest, determined, and eager to help. I'm so grateful. At Danubius Hungaria, the rooms were clean, spacious, and tidy. It's not a luxury hotel, but we had no problems and had an amazing stay.

Our room was modern, spacious, and well equipped, and the staff were courteous and helpful. Breakfast offered a good range of choices. The location worked well, just a five-minute walk from two metro stations, with buses available near the hotel too. A fellow traveler in our group asked the hotel to wish me a happy birthday, and they left us a complimentary bottle of prosecco. A lovely touch.

The hotel and lobby are modern and attractive, and the location right in the city center is great. Breakfast was okay, and I had a good stay overall. Our street-facing room had a lovely view, but the noise was intense. The windows did nothing to keep out the street sounds, and police and ambulance sirens came through loudly. There are sirens throughout the day in Budapest, so if noise bothers you, ask for a room that doesn't face the street.

We arrived in the evening, and the receptionist was really good, with all the qualities you'd want at the desk. The hotel is right next to the train station, making it easy to get around to the sights. There was a big selection at breakfast. I'd recommend it!
