Full Moon Budapest

The main problem is the Morrison 2 nightclub directly below the hotel. On busy Thursday and Saturday nights, intoxicated people filled the common areas, and the lobby smelled of vomit, with the odor reaching the first floor. My first room was on the first floor facing the club entrance. The bass made the bed vibrate, and even earplugs couldn’t block the noise. After the music stopped around 5:00 AM, people outside shouted, so I couldn’t sleep. I moved to a second-floor room facing another street for the rest of my week. There was still some ambient noise, but with earplugs I could sleep reasonably well. The hotel itself was clean and attractive, housekeeping did a great job every day, breakfast had a good range of choices, and the rooms were decent. Staff were generally pleasant. I’d have been happy with almost everything if not for the club. Whether your stay is good seems to depend on getting a room away from the noise. I’d ask for an upper floor or one facing away from the entrance.

The nightclub in the same building made the stay extremely uncomfortable. Its noise was unbearable every night from around 8 PM until after dawn, and the hotel description on the booking platform didn’t mention the club, so we couldn’t make an informed choice. I wouldn’t recommend Full Moon Budapest. There were problems during the day too. Housekeeping started at 8 AM and was very noisy, even when guests were still sleeping. The elevator on the first floor was shut down from 8 PM because of the nightclub. When we checked out, it wasn’t working, so we had to carry our luggage down the stairs from the fourth floor. Reception was poor as well. The room key we were first given was for a tiny room, not the type we had booked. We went back to ask about it, and staff showed us several rooms before we finally got the correct room type. Between the nightclub, morning noise, service, and lack of transparency, the stay was very disappointing.

The location was central, the beds were comfortable, and there was a large wardrobe. We could also leave our bags for free. But 280 euros for four days felt like too much, especially since the room wasn’t cleaned even though we put out the clean-my-room card one day. We didn’t know which of the three-bedroom rooms we’d get, and staff were rather passive when answering, both at reception and on the phone. Towels were limited to two large and two small ones every three days, and the sheets weren’t changed. The nearby nightclub was disturbing, and the room didn’t block its noise.

The staff were nice, but the hotel shares a building with a nightclub, and my street-facing room was very noisy. People outside talked loudly until late into the night. I can’t understand the idea of putting a hotel and nightclub in the same building. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
