The location is the one thing this place has going for it. Everything else felt like a waste of guests' money. The room was cramped up near the ceiling, with barely any air circulation around the bed. The sheets were worn and had holes, and the white walls had become brown with dirt. My acne got worse during the trip, and I suspect the pillows were a breeding ground for germs. There was dust in the shower ventilation and green staining on the ceiling, possibly mold. The walls were so thin that we could hear neighbors talking and moving around before bed during the first few nights. On our last night, a couple in the next room was so loud at 2 a.m. that it felt like the walls were moving, and we couldn't sleep at all. Judging by the host's replies to the negative reviews they have received, this place seems to be run for money without respect for guests. Please don't stay here.

At 2 a.m. I'm writing this because the walls are moving from the noise of our neighbors. The room is on the upper level with no ventilation around the bed, which feels like a bacterial nest. The apartment is split into five small rooms with paper-thin walls, and the conditions made the place feel disgusting and unlivable. The worst booking I've ever made, with completely inhuman conditions.

I only have good things to say about the hotel and the man at reception. He was kind, helpful, and organized. Another place canceled on me, so I booked here for two nights over New Year's with my girlfriend and paid $99 a night. For that price, it was great, though I wouldn't call it perfect. I'd seen bad reviews mentioning a woman at reception, and maybe some people had problems before, but I didn't. We might have been lucky with our neighbors, since I didn't hear any noise or have any issues.

At check-in, they expected payment in cash within the first three minutes, though that hadn't been mentioned beforehand. Taxes also only appeared when it was time to pay. Fresh sheets and towels are provided every four days, and cleaning isn't mandatory. Some of the staff don't speak English, which makes getting things clarified difficult. For a very poor "hotel" in central Budapest, you might as well pitch a tent outside in spring or summer.

Awful. There was swearing and banging all night, and a foul smell. I wouldn't recommend staying here for a rest.
