Budapest Marriott Hotel

I hadn’t stayed here for years, and we spent five days this time. Everyone we met was friendly, from the front desk to the M Lounge and breakfast staff. Our housekeeper made the stay exceptional, and the view was breathtaking. It was refreshing to look out through the many windows at the sights around us. The hotel also has a great gym and a central location. M Lounge served lunch and dinner, plus alcohol in the evening. Just keep in mind that the hours they initially give you aren’t always followed. We’re looking forward to coming back, and we’ll miss this place.

Breakfast was a real highlight, with attentive service and a relaxed atmosphere. The staff were kind throughout, and the reception team made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived. Our room had a lovely view, and the stay went smoothly. I’d gladly recommend the hotel and come back when I’m in Budapest.

We spent four nights at the Budapest Marriott, and its spot by the Danube made getting around easy. Chain Bridge and Fashion Street are both a short walk away, and the views from the hotel, especially the rooftop bar, are great. The rooms were roomy and comfortable, the breakfast buffet was nice, and we enjoyed evening drinks upstairs. A staff member also showed us the small wellness area and explained that guests can use it for free. We didn’t end up going, but it was a nice extra. One thing we appreciated was being offered a room change the day after we arrived, after we’d been given twin beds despite requesting a king because of a large group staying there. Since we had such a short visit, we chose not to move. The small hand towels also weren’t replaced after being taken away, a minor detail. Even so, we had a wonderful stay and would recommend the hotel and happily return. It’s among the best premium-tier Marriott hotels we’ve stayed at.

The M Club lounge was the best part of our five-night family visit. Its daily food selection was excellent, and Julius looked after us with a constant smile and great care. The other lounge staff, including the supervisor, were kind too. We also got a two-night suite upgrade through elite status. Breakfast was dependable Marriott fare, though it barely changed from day to day. The location right beside the Danube was hard to beat, with tram and metro stops close by and the Christmas markets well placed for us. The hotel itself feels a little dated. More frustrating was the front desk’s inflexibility: despite our status and young children, Benjamin and the Dec 21st evening guy said we had to book a second room on top of our suite nights instead of offering an extra bed, even though the suite was huge and had a sofa bed. That felt unnecessary compared with our stays at other Marriott properties. Still, the location and lounge team make it a solid recommendation.
