The host said the quickest way to Tihany was along a route that doesn't show up on Google Maps. He also makes his own red wine, so you can ask him about it if you'd like some. I booked through Airbnb. If you can't get hold of him, just go to the Airbnb and look for him, he's usually home.
I spent a month here as a student before moving into the school dorm. My landlord, Mihály, was a really nice guy. There were a few small cleaning issues in the room, but he had the things needed to take care of them, including a broom and mop.
Eger's city center is right nearby, so we could walk everywhere. The room, bed linen, and bathroom were clean, and the hosts were nice. It was a good place to stay. There was a toll booth across from the accommodation, a drink counter next to it, and a buffet serving breakfast 30 meters away. Everything worked out very well for us.
We've been going there for years. It's a lovely, atmospheric old house. There are no luxuries, but it's really nice.
