Just a short walk to the lake, about two minutes, and the garden is lovely. The people are nice too.

The apartment didn’t look like the photos at all, and the condition of the place added to a pretty upsetting weekend in July. There was dust on the shelves, dead spiders, smelly bedding, and an unpleasant smell in the room. Our main issue was how the hosts treated us. My brother drove us there and spent about half an hour helping bring in our luggage. They assumed he was staying, then wrote that we had “moved a strange guy in” just minutes after arriving. Once we explained he was only helping us unpack, the owner’s mother apologized repeatedly. I don’t know whether she passed that on to the owner. When we left, loading the car in the driveway took around ten minutes. Nobody was driving through, and it wasn’t bothering anyone. His mother said goodbye with, “Hell with you, Earth witches.” We hadn’t been loud or disturbed anyone’s rest, as far as I know, and we didn’t deserve to be called that. If I’ve got that wrong, they can correct me. In response to what was written on Booking, we were respectful. My brother came into the accommodation area once while we were leaving, and there was no car in the driveway. The owner could have refused a later checkout, but that was his choice, and we thanked him for it. We appreciate the time we spent there, but we won’t be back. Sincerely, “The Earth Witches”

I first knew Katy when I used to drive to Germany and back, entering Hungary and heading to Balton. That was where you’d find Madam Katy No. 7. She was always helpful and hospitable, and I remember her with her husband and their two children, a seven-year-old boy and a six-year-old girl. The street wasn’t paved then, and she used to say she only came in summer. It was just a house, and that went on for forty years. Katy is one of the most loyal people I know, and her family is very respectable. God willing, we’ll visit her soon.

The room was small, with one bed, and the bathroom and kitchen were shared. Since the room opened straight into the kitchen, there wasn’t much we could do privately without being heard. The TV was small, though the limited number of programs bothered us more. We stayed one night in summer with my partner. The beach is nearby and there’s nearly everything you need for a vacation. At first the older lady was helpful and nice, if a little rude, which can happen. But after we went for a walk farther along the promenade and got soaked in the rain, my partner slipped on the terrace. Everyone just watched. They weren’t happy we came back wet, though there was no cover. The lady turned out to be a jerk. We won’t return.
