The hotel was in the middle of renovations, and nobody told me when I booked. They shouldn't be taking guests at any price while it's like that. When I asked for a refund, they refused. I also offered to pay extra to have them help find safe parking, but they wouldn't help with that either. The place is down narrow gangs, so don't bring a car. The beach is a very long walk away, and parking on the beach road isn't safe. If you're a domestic traveler on a domestic budget, there's nowhere to eat near the hotel. After 30 years of staying in Indonesia, this was the least helpful hotel staff I've ever encountered. The place is poorly managed and takes advantage of guests who can't inspect it in person before booking through Agoda. Kubu just isn't surviving the fittest.

The water pressure was so low at the sink, toilet and shower that my pee was stronger. The toilet had no water, and the shower only gave cold water. When I reported that no water was flowing, staff weren't helpful and said, "all the room all also like this". They wouldn't move me to another room. Why renovate and make customers suffer if every room is the same? Worst hotel to stay in. It sucks.

Avoid this place. If you arrive a little late, they cancel your booking and don't give you a refund. Feels like a scam.

The room is nice, the pool is in the middle, and the air is amazing. Parking is only so-so, as you'd expect here. One thing management should check: I booked for 200k, but the receptionist raised the price to 390K in the lobby. The payment printout only showed 200K. Please look into what the receptionist is doing.

The service was okay and the hospitality was good. The room really needs work, though. The aircon was very hot and didn't seem to be working properly. I'd rather have a fan than a broken aircon.
