Villa Nirvana is located in the village of Penestanan in Ubud, a part of Bali most famous for its art, culture and spirituality – as well as breathtaking natural beauty. The complex comprises three separate and private villas, each with two bedrooms (although single-room bookings can also be made) and its own pool. It also has its own restaurant – known as the finest in Penestanan – that overlooks a gorge, and serves a variety of cuisines. Luxurious, with a rustic charm, Villa Nirvana is a haven of tranquillity. No cars are allowed to drive by. Outside the villa is a walking path and bike trail, covered by a canopy of trees. On either side are little warungs (small local eateries), and the occasional art gallery. Beyond lie lush rice-paddies. Amid this beauty and quietude, you'd never guess that you're just a 15 minute walk away from the centre of Ubud.

There was plenty to do nearby, with restaurants, massage spots, shops, and a large grocery store all within about a 15-minute walk. Villa Nirvana also felt nicely placed: close to the activity, but far enough from the busiest streets to enjoy a quieter stay in a lively area. I spent eight nights there on my first visit to Ubud, and it made a perfect home base. Amanda waz my beautiful villa, and the team helped me feel welcome and safe. I hope I can come back soon!

The staff were lovely and arranged both our airport pickup and drop-off. We also enjoyed the restaurant: the menu is limited, but everything was made to order and delicious. It was our first time in Bali, so we weren't sure what to expect. Our villa turned out to be spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a stunning private pool. The village was an easy walk away. Thanks, Villa Nirvana. We hope to visit again.

The buggy was quick and efficient, with hardly any wait, and staff were always ready when we needed help. They were warm and attentive throughout, and the villa was spotless. The kids even had floaties provided without us asking, which made their stay more fun. They also went out of their way to prepare a halal breakfast without meat, as requested, at 5 AM before our early trip to Nusa Penida. We’re grateful for the hospitality from the staff and owner. The place made our Bali trip more memorable, and we’d gladly stay again. Kudos to Pak Manager, Pak Krisna, and the whole team!

Getting here may mean a bit of walking and some stairs, but it's a lovely hidden gem 💎. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and quiet, and breakfast is great. Staff are kind, generous, and respectful. You can book the buggy to get dropped nearby…

The staff were amazing, always ready to help and even arrange travel. The villa itself is beautiful, peaceful, and quiet. I met Krisna while he was working, and we had such a great chat that I've made a good friend. Totally recommend 👌
