Sahara Sands Guest House - Gili Trawangan

Sahara Sand was a lovely little oasis on Gili T, with a peaceful feel while still being close to the main street’s restaurants, street food, shops and bars. The apartment was spacious and had what we needed, including a fully equipped kitchen, soaps and towels. Our room was clean, with a large comfortable bed, AC and a fan. We had an excellent stay. Great location and good value for money.

Lynda was friendly and quick to answer our WhatsApp calls. The villa has three spacious bedrooms plus a guesthouse, so it worked well for our big family. It’s on the street that goes straight to the island’s sunset side, and the village location is quiet despite being central. The harbour was about a 15-minute walk away. We got a horse to carry our luggage and kids. Eggs, bread, butter and jam were provided for breakfast, though we made our own meals.

Lindia was so easy to reach on WhatsApp whenever I needed anything, and even got our washing done in a day. Bikes were available too, so we didn’t have to hunt around for rentals. The rooms were great, the showers had hot water, and we loved the balcony and cold water dispenser. It’s a really good place for a group. One of the best stays I’ve had while travelling, and I’d come back without hesitation 🫶🏼

We spent a week at Sahara Sands and it was sheer bliss. The kitchen was well equipped, so we enjoyed making our own meals, and the beach and restaurants were just a short walk or bike ride away. It’s a quaint little oasis with the comforts of home, lovely décor, great cleanliness and thoughtful details. This place ticks all the boxes.
