The room was small and dated, which we could have accepted for the price. What made this stay unacceptable was the service. During cleaning, $80 Aus went missing from my friend’s drawer, where it had been tucked beneath several postcards. Staff were dismissive when she reported it. They spoke to the cleaner, then told her to go back to the room, said there would be no compensation, and suggested she contact the police if she wanted. No one apologized. There were also safety and comfort problems. Staff sometimes came into the room without knocking even when the “make up room” sign wasn’t up, and on a few occasions they knocked at midnight for reasons we didn’t know. The drainage was poor and there was serious flooding. We heard nothing from staff during or afterward, even though we were stuck at the hotel without a way to get more food or water. The Wi-Fi was extremely weak. We had to ask for several adapter plugs before finding one that worked, and even then the phone only charged if it was held in a precise position. There weren’t many amenities either: no hand soap, and pool towels were hard to get unless you asked. Towels were supplied during room cleaning. The bathroom was small and old, with its sink out in the living area. Laundry was expensive because each clothing item was charged separately. It’s a bit removed from restaurants and the main part of Seminyak. We were willing to put up with the small, outdated hotel given the affordable price, but the service made it not worth staying. We wouldn’t return or recommend it to anyone visiting Bali.
