Amarin Seminyak

Amarin villas has a lot going for it: a great location, a huge pool, and a good layout. We stayed once in November 2022 and again in May 2023, but the second visit will be our last. The lack of cleanliness and maintenance is unacceptable for the price, and the front desk wasn't especially welcoming. Several walls had water damage, the master bathroom shower head only partly worked, and the shampoo and conditioner bottles had soap scum on them. The bathroom vanity was stained and hadn't been cleaned properly, with someone else's hair on it. The Wi-Fi was terrible and didn't work at all in the master bedroom. The deck around the pool was rotting, and a door to a water feature couldn't be locked, which was concerning with small children. The butlers were lovely, but during housekeeping we noticed they had unlocked the external doors to the pool. The pool attendant added chlorine in the middle of the day just as we got back for a swim after being out for two hours, so we couldn't swim for a while. Housekeeping had asked if the villa was free to clean as we were heading out. We were charged $10 a day for an extra high chair, though it was free in November 2022. They blamed the change on new ownership. We also asked for a 1 pm late checkout, but the best they could offer was 12:30. These may be small issues individually, but at $600+ a night, we expected better service. Stay somewhere else for less.

We were looked after well by Trisna during our stay. The modern villas were comfortable, and the pool was much bigger than we expected. It’s a quiet area, but plenty of restaurants are within walking distance, and there’s a 24-hour mini mart just across the road.

The room was spacious and had some really nice photo spots, and the service was great, especially at breakfast. The shower water pressure was very weak, though. I was very satisfied overall.

Happy Chappy is within walking distance and has great Chinese food, and there’s also a nearby local fried chicken shop that’s better than KFC. The rooms are very cozy and room service was great. The beach isn't nearby.
