Bhavana Private Villas

I could walk to restaurants and bars from this villa, so the location suited me perfectly. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the villa was great, just the right size. I loved it.

The villa was peaceful and clean, and maintained to the standard of a five-star property. We had a really good experience, and the staff were cooperative and warm. Must try!

The staff were very friendly, and the breakfast was quite good. I also tried the massage service and thought it was fine, though I suspect a local spa could offer a better one. During the day, construction at the building directly behind my villa made it impossible to relax in peace. The location was okay, close to various places, but there are hotels with better locations and nicer accommodation. The bathroom is outdoors. That novelty wore off quickly, especially when rain covered the whole floor and made it uncomfortable and dangerous to walk on. The villas are old, dirty, and poorly maintained, and the pictures are misleading. Floors, bedsheets, and walls were dirty. Gaps in the roof left the villa poorly insulated, made it hot, and let bugs in. On my last night, heavy rain leaked through the roof into my room. Luckily, none of my belongings got wet. The longer I stayed, the more I wished I’d picked somewhere else. Please trust the reviews and stay elsewhere, such as The Seminyak Resort.

The daytime concierge was the one bright spot. He had a warm smile, was accommodating, and offered us a late checkout. It felt like he knew the place was below standard. The villas have potential, but they need people who care about hospitality to bring them back to life. It’s extremely sad that the owners seem to have lost sight of what hosting people means. We had booked and paid through Agoda, but when we arrived, staff said they couldn’t find our reservation and knew nothing about it. Someone else appeared under a different name for the exact same booking, through the same place on the same date. It was likely ours, but the front desk staff member seemed completely lost. They didn’t ask whether we still wanted to stay, and we had to ask if a room was available. The rooms themselves look beautiful, but only if everything is clean and all the linen is changed. They were old, grotty, poorly maintained, and generally dirty. The floor didn’t even look like it had been mopped after the previous guests. The kitchen stove and some power points didn’t work. The pool was murky and unclean, and the bathroom looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. The guest book was full of misinformation. Nowhere did it say the complimentary services were only for long stays. Nobody gave us the wifi password, so we had to go back to the front desk for it. The supposed filtered water came in an unsealed bottle placed in a pot, and I had no confidence it was filtered, especially when even smaller places now have modern filters everywhere. Go somewhere else.
