The roosters next door drove us mad. There were heaps of them, clucking loudly all day and all night. Earplugs took the edge off, but be warned, they may ruin your sleep. That alone means I can’t recommend this hotel. We also had to keep the doors shut or the mosquitoes would eat us alive. I stayed five nights. The location was decent, with places to eat within walking distance, though I was mostly out on tours. Staff had good customer service, the room was a really good size, and I had a villa with pool access, which was nice. I skipped the hotel breakfast because there are lots of great local cafes. I recommend 'How i met coffee'. There were problems with the room, too. A damp smell remained even after we changed rooms, and it affected my throat. The sheets weren’t changed at all, even after I mentioned that mine had a bit of blood on it. They also didn’t clean or replace the bathroom cups. They were very stingy with toilet paper, so we had to ask for a couple more rolls every day.

It’s a budget hotel. My room was dark, smelled mouldy, and was so noisy I could hear everyone outside. The pool looked like it had never been cleaned. The air con was loud and dirty, and I got extremely sick from it and went to hospitals.

We’ll definitely return to Djabu Hotel in Seminyak. The staff were fantastic, friendly and helpful, even explaining how to count rupiah and understand its value, which was useful as first-time Bali visitors. The grounds looked immaculate, the pools were beautiful, and the rooms were spacious and spotless. There are great facilities, plus an on-site restaurant and bar with complimentary buffet breakfast included. We loved our stay.
