The Green Zhurga Suite

I loved my two weeks here. The pool was fantastic and always clean, and both the staff and manager were delightful and helpful. The service was 20/10!!! Best stay in Bali 🙏 Thanks, team. See you next time!

The Green Zhurga Suite is quiet, and for me the location is central. By motorbike, Kerobokan, Seminyak, and Legian are quick to reach, while Kuta and Denpasar are a little farther. There’s an Indomaret and @maret close by for small shopping. Staff are friendly, and the outside looks good too. Cleanliness was nowhere near my standard. I’d been here a week at the time of writing and planned to stay two months, so I quickly cleaned the kitchen, fridge 🤮, bathroom, hinges, and rails, spraying the latter with WD-40. It was hard work, but now it meets my standard. Other guests may not need to do that, but The Green Zhurga Suite needs to improve a lot on cleanliness. I’ll let you know. For me, it’s a no-go now. Many hotels put chlorine tablets in their swimming pools, which creates a high concentration and danger! The staff don’t seem to care much about guests. They start talking loudly early in the morning, like chickens, and it seems to happen all the time. Whenever I come back, at least three of the four staff are hanging around on their phones. I know, it’s Balinese style, not in a hurry, slow at work. What about the owner?

Green Zhurga was a lovely place to unwind. It’s tucked away from the crowds, and there are a few good places to eat within walking distance. t.one kitchen coffee and roastery is closest, with tasty food, excellent coffee, and friendly staff. We stayed for 6 nights. The rooms are spacious and a little worn, but comfortable, and the pool is large. Ms Widya manages the front desk, and she, Aji, Danan, Anang, and Nyoman were all genuinely kind and helpful. I hope the owner knows how much they add to the stay.

The rooms were clean and the staff were friendly, but the power bill made the stay a rip-off for me. Electricity for one room with 1 air-conditioner cost $220 Aus money for 1 month. I’d understood the average Bali bill to be around $50 to $100 MAX, and I found another place around the corner with a $50 per month power bill. Be careful of what felt like a power scam to me. There were ants in the bed every day, with the living area outside and only a sliding door to keep insects out. I never usually write negative reviews, but the bill and the insects at that price seemed worth mentioning. You can get much better accommodation. If neither issue bothers you, go for it 🤙
