Villa Destino Bali

We were at Villa Destino from 24th June to 4th July, and I’d rate it two stars at most. The villa is at the end of a roughly 200m alley. When it rains, there are puddles about 6 inches deep to cross, and the uneven path isn’t suitable for elderly people or anyone with limited mobility. The pool pump station is also dangerously covered with rotten wood and instant turf. The property has a serious pest problem: ants on the beds every day, stray cats coming in to steal food, and cockroaches. The bathrooms flooded, the doors didn’t lock properly, and we had to keep lifting the toilet cistern lids to free the stop cocks. One bedroom’s toilet seat had been glued together, with silicon filling the crack. There weren’t enough kitchen utensils, plates, glasses, or knives and forks for the villa’s capacity. Cleaners sometimes gathered in a small room in the front courtyard for as long as two hours. We ordered breakfast one morning, but the cleaners who came to make it served it cold and it was poor quality. On several occasions, I locked the gates and found them open the next morning. We paid for an extra day because we had a late flight. I stayed in the front living area by the pool from 0900 to 1900, sitting next to the TV, and it definitely wasn’t damaged then. After we got home, we were told it looked as though a football had been kicked at it and that we’d be charged 360 AUD to replace it. We’d left my son’s football at the villa as a goodwill gesture, thinking the cleaners might give it to their children. The villa was vacant from 7pm until Saturday because we checked out early. We didn’t damage the TV. If I had, I would’ve replaced it while we were there or at least notified them. I feel we’re being ripped off. We didn’t complain during the stay about the villa’s two-star-or-below facilities, but I’m speaking out now because this feels unfair. Stay away.
