Anshel Hotel

The location is really great, and the café downstairs is nice. Staff were very nice and service was good. The hotel itself is pretty average, a little old, though the showers were nice and most things felt clean apart from a strange smell in our first room. Staff helped us move to a better one. There are very few plug sockets, so I had to buy an extension cable to get one near the bed. One older staff member seemed a bit prickly and less friendly or professional, though I don’t know if he was the manager or just having a bad day.

I’ve stayed at Anshel several times, and each visit I’ve had wonderful service from friendly, helpful staff. Thanks again, Martin! The price was great, around the mid-20s USD for my stay, and it’s a short walk to the beach. Upper floors have views, and I think those rooms are a better deal. The rooms are clean and stylish, though some furnishings are worn and need upgrading. Food is a highlight. Dulce cafe and Don Pepe restaurant are delicious and reasonably priced. Seminyak has so many options, but I ate most of my meals here. I stayed in October 2025.

The location was perfect, with the hotel quiet, near a Circle K, and a shirt walk to the beach and town. Staff were friendly. We stayed here twice during our Bali trip: the first room, on the fourth floor, was modern and very nice, with lots of pillows. The second was on the third floor and hadn’t been updated, with only one pillow each.

In some ways, staying here feels like being in your own home. It may not suit everyone’s standards or be perfect, but they do their best to look after guests. The owners are often around and enjoy chatting with people. Sometimes, when they have a gathering for their beliefs, they invite guests to join in or simply relax and have an interesting, meaningful conversation.
