After checking out at 11am, we asked if we could borrow a towel so we could shower before our flight at 8pm. We were told no, and that each towel would cost 15000. That's never happened to us in four months of travelling. The place came across as money-grabbing and unwilling to help, and it had zero atmosphere. I highly recommend not staying here. When we first arrived, the woman tried to charge us 400000 for a private room, though we ended up getting it for 200000.

The location is good, about a 7-minute walk to the beach and restaurants, and 5 minutes to Legian, the clubbing street. The price wasn't bad, but our dorm was on the second floor and the wifi was barely usable. Ask for a first-floor dorm.

The dormitory is economical, with a hot-water shower, and it's conveniently located for most tourist attractions and the airport. The new public bus station at Mengwi is far away. You need to walk 500 m to the left to reach the motorbike rental, then take Gojek for only 35k rupiahs, or 2.5 us$.

For a very cheap price, I'd give it 4 stars. There's a nice location with lots of shops around, including 24-hour minimarkets. The showers have hot water, and each bed has a light and plug, plus there's a locker in the room. On the downside, the showers are dirty and poorly maintained, the shared space is small, and the rooms are always left unlocked.
