Lumbung Sari Hotel

We arrived at 10 p.m. after a very late check-in, and the website’s messages made everything clear and reassuring. The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, the linen was clean, and the air conditioning was outstanding. Free Wi-Fi was unreal, and we got complimentary bottled water each day. There was a ventilated hanging rack outside, and the staff were always nearby cleaning and keeping the place well lit. They were so friendly, with plenty of smiles and waves. The architecture was beautiful, too. The pool was a great temperature, though as a vertically challenged person I found it hard to relax in because it only has one depth. I still enjoyed it. We had a truly lovely stay, and the staff deserve credit for making it so welcoming and comfortable.

The staff were lovely, but the rooms are old, and you get what you pay for. The doors and windows didn’t feel very secure. Legian seems to be attracting people who aren’t so family friendly now. Keep hold of your bags and lock away your passport and cash. It doesn’t feel like a safe area anymore, day or night.

The price is cheap, the location is convenient, and it’s pretty quiet with a pool to use. But our room was a letdown as soon as we walked in. The bed, floors, sheets, towels, and fridge were dirty. They didn’t give us the Wi-Fi password, and the door handle was broken, so we couldn’t lock the door. The whole place looked run down. A decent service could fix a lot of it.

The staff were very kind, and the breakfast was both good and affordable. The pool and shared area were really nice. The bedroom was off-putting, though: the sheets didn’t fit the bed, there were lots of stains on the walls, and the bathroom was very unclean. Bugs could easily get in through a hole or “vent” in the bathroom.
