New Garden View Resort

The staff are lovely and helpful, breakfast is good but costs $10 per person, and the rooftop bar and pool are great. The location's handy for shops, pubs, and the beach. Rooms are dated, though, and sometimes the hot water runs out. The shower glass has a white calcium buildup, even though the room itself is cleaned well. Coffee and tea are provided, but there's no milk, so bring instant coffee if you like it. There's a lot of heavily tattooed bogans around, or people getting tattooed. Don't book a room at the front, because the Y Bar noise carries on late. Ask the front desk and they'll move you to a quieter room. For the money, it's good value, and I always stay there.

There's a rooftop pool with a swim-up bar where I could happily spend the whole holiday, and the beach is only a five-minute walk away. The rooms are beautiful, and the staff are cheerful and polite. It's close to some of the area's best restaurants and plenty of shopping. One of the nicest places in its price range, and I'm already looking forward to coming back next year!

The location and staff were good, and we liked the food. But the room problems made the stay frustrating. The air conditioning barely worked in our first room, and the TV only showed static. We were moved to a room across the doors; the aircon was only a little better, and the TV still had no clear channels. The Wi-Fi there was crap too. I wouldn’t stay again.

New Garden View was excellent value. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and I found their approach very fair. Thank you!
