Rabasta Mahayana Kuta

The room was just about okay for sleeping, and you get what you pay for. If you don't mind poor sleep and only need somewhere to leave your things while you're out around kuta all day, it may suit you. The rooms are mouldy, and the walls need attention. The toilets and cupboards also need refurbishing. Wi-Fi worked in the lounge, but barely reached the rooms. If you're a woman, I'd suggest staying elsewhere: the alley is dark at night, with no street lighting on the way to get food, even though places are within walking distance. I wouldn't use the pool, either. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned in ages, practically ready for algae to grow. I wouldn't recommend staying at this budget hotel. Your money would be better spent elsewhere.

Everything felt SUPER dirty, and I'm definitely not coming back. On my first day, I found the previous guests' rubbish still in the room. The blanket was dirty too, though staff later replaced its cover. There was even a cigarette butt left on the shelves. On my last day, the toilet had no water, so I couldn't shower, and the towel smelled bad.

The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the service felt professional and thorough. Daily room service was excellent, and the toilets were clean. My room was clean too, but had a damp, musty smell that eased when I left the doors open. Some guests were still noisy, using speakers and the pool while drunk into the early morning. It's about a 15-minute walk to Kuta's main area and the beach, while the malls are around seven minutes away.

It's a decent option for a backpacker on a tight budget like me, but the distance from the main street is a hassle if you don't have a ride. At $13 a night, I'd rather stay somewhere else, though.
