The location is convenient, with shops all around, the beach nearby, and good local restaurants easy to find. But it’s noisy, and I’d only consider staying if cleanliness isn’t a concern. The room itself was shockingly dirty. I nearly threw up when I saw liquid on the quilt and stains on the pillow. The photos online are misleading, and I’ve never stayed in a hotel this filthy. The place should be abandoned. The staff didn’t seem to care whether the facilities worked. Several door locks wouldn’t open, so we switched rooms more than once before finding one that was almost normal. I’d booked four nights and didn’t want to lose the money, which was the only reason I stayed.

We reserved a standard room with a double bed, but when we arrived they said it was broken and moved us to a twin room for the same price. There was one towel, and no toilet paper, shower gel, or soap. The shower didn’t work either. The walls were covered in mould, which someone had tried and failed to hide. A strong chemical smell, like bleach and paint stripper, filled the room. My partner and I started feeling light-headed, and after three hours my partner had a severe headache. We suspected it might be methylene chloride, which is a known carcinogen, but couldn’t confirm that. Please be careful. The staff were rude and didn’t speak to us, nothing like the warm Balinese hospitality we’re used to. We contacted Agoda about a refund, but they said OYO had refused. Their policy means cancellations for any reason won’t be refunded, and they take full advantage of that. This place is a scam. If you care about your health, don’t book here.

I left within 20 minutes. The rooms were grimy, with mould on the walls and cockroaches on the floor. The bathroom looked like a horror movie set, and the shower barely gave any water. There was a bucket and tap instead, and I found little worms coming out of the tap. I’m fine with roughing it, but this was another level. For $30AUD more, there are so many nicer places. I’d give it zero stars if I could.

I stayed just ONE night, and the mould in the room was so bad that I ended up in hospital with vomiting, a fever, and feeling generally unwell. I was charged $600. I’ve backpacked through nearly 30 countries and stayed in some pretty dodgy hotels and hostels, but this was the most disgusting place I’ve ever stayed. Even if you’re trying to save money, it isn’t worth it. Agoda was awful too. I asked for some compensation and a refund for the room, and they offered me $5 to spend only through Agoda, saying that was “the maximum they could offer.” I’d give this zero if I could. Don’t stay here, and don’t use Agoda.
