Surya Mas Villa

As a solo traveler, feeling comfortable and safe mattered a lot, and I found both here. Ade and the whole team were genuinely kind and welcoming, treating guests like family and going out of their way to help. The service made the stay feel seamless from start to finish. Management should be proud of the dedicated, friendly staff they've built. Villa Penelopy and Villa Surya Mas were an incredible stay, and I can't recommend them highly enough. I'm already counting down to a return to this beautiful oasis.

The three affectionate dogs made me feel safe whenever I walked from the villa to the cab waiting at the entrance 😊. The place is convenient, within walking distance of Legian beach and surrounded by shops, but far enough from the big crowds for a quiet stay. The rooms and common area look incredible, and the beautiful plants add to the cozy feel. Some parts of the house, especially the kitchen and washrooms, are a little behind on looks, but they're fully functional. The staff were super helpful and the service was great. Definitely staying again.

The villa itself is beautiful and in a prime spot, but it wasn't the quiet, restful week we hoped for on our honeymoon and wedding anniversary trip. We booked it for the second week so we could relax by the pool and stay in if we wanted. Instead, the walls are paper thin, so we could hear everything going on with the neighbours, and local children banged a basketball against the villa fence for hours every day. The bed creaks whenever either of us moves, waking the other, and we're both badly short on sleep. Local animals also woke us at dawn, a cat, a dog trying to eat it, and what sounded like an angry turkey. I'd take that over the neighbours and basketball, though. I love Bali, its people and culture, but since we paid above the usual accommodation rate, I expected some basic comfort too. We slept better at our previous three star resort. My mum passed away a week after we got married, so we couldn't come then and combined the honeymoon with our anniversary.
