Villa Dewata II

After a week of exploring Seminyak, it was lovely to come back to the villa and unwind. We had a great stay and would thoroughly recommend it.

Breakfast was generous and well worth having, and we ended up eating in more often than going out because the chef’s food was so good. Ketut, our Butler, was wonderfully attentive. The two little room fairies were great too, tidying up, spraying for mozzies each night, and handling laundry collection and delivery. They go above and beyond for guests. We’ll be back!

The staff have been here for 10+ years, and you can tell. They understand what you’re really asking for and know where to send you for a good coffee, a spa, a driver, a beach club, or even gelato at 23:30. That kind of local knowledge makes everything easy, and really lets you relax on holiday. We stayed here over the last fortnight. The gardens are mature, lush, and help quieten the noise, even though the compound, which has two other villas, is barely 30 metres from the main road south and about a 10m walk from the bustle of JL Kayu Aya. After the Go-jek and taxi beeps and shopkeepers calling you in, a quiet swim under the tree canopy, with birds and the occasional squirrel, is a lovely way to decompress. There’s a staffed 24 hr security booth at the gate, as well as permanent staff on site. We put valuables in the room safes, but felt comfortable leaving doors open with phones and laptops out on tables, whether we were in or not. It took a lot of stress out of the trip. The property, pool, rooms, ensuites, and attentive staff are all terrific, as other Dewata reviews say. Kinda like a holiday really.

We only had to come home a week after arriving, and I’m already planning another stay. The location is top notch, and the rooms and pool are beautiful. The staff were the best part, though. They took care of everything, from breakfast each day and cocktails to excursions and anything else we needed.
