Villa Suzuki 1 Seminyak

There was a dead rat in the kitchen pipe when we arrived. The cleaner who greeted us seemed unaware of the smell. Pipes, taps, and rain showers were all badly rusted, and one bathroom flooded as soon as we used it. The villa has numerous defects, and nobody will help you once you've paid. The problems go on and on. Just don't stay here.

The location was great, just a five minute walk to Seminyak's main strip and within walking distance of cafes and restaurants. All six of us girls loved our stay at Villa LA, and we're looking forward to coming back ❤️ The rooms were spacious, the pool was amazing, and the facilities were great. We had unlimited wifi and a complimentary water dispenser, so we didn't need to find drinking water ourselves. Hendra and Hendro looked after us so well. They always checked when we wanted the villa cleaned, left it to a high standard, arranged massages in the villa when we asked, and responded quickly. They were friendly, professional, and always offered to help. Putu was our nighttime security guard, which gave us extra peace of mind as six women staying together. He was kind and helpful, even driving us to the nearest convenience store at night. Mr Wayan, the manager, explained the cost breakdown clearly and professionally, and regularly checked how we were doing and whether he could help with anything else. Huge thanks to the staff for making our stay so comfortable and memorable.

The villa itself was lovely, especially the private pool and outdoor space, and the housekeeper and other staff were helpful whenever we contacted them. But the maintenance problems kept coming. For the final three nights, the water and electricity repeatedly cut out, sometimes after a worker had already fixed them. We spent much of the week calling for help and waiting 20-30 minutes for the manager to respond and send someone. The safe also jammed with our passports inside on day two, and the front door key often got stuck, so we needed assistance with that too. I'd return to Villa LA if the repeated maintenance issues were sorted out.

I booked Villa la for a July holiday through booking.com because its free cancellation policy gave me flexibility while COVID rules were changing so quickly. The next day, the hotel messaged asking for a 50% deposit before the policy's due date. I sent a screenshot showing the free cancellation terms, but got no reply, and they cancelled my reservation. The customer service was very poor, and I'm glad they cancelled in the end. I've booked a different villa with much better service.
