The biggest issue was the bathroom. The mirror was cracked and taped together, and the toilet wouldn’t flush. They brought us a little pan to use, but I checked another room and it had the same setup. The beachside location is great, the food was decent, and there was nice live music on our first night. The air conditioning was okay, neither cool enough to need a sheet nor so warm that we were sweating. There was quite a bit of trash around, which seems common in countries like this. Just be aware that the toilet situation makes it feel a lot like camping.

The beach in front of the hotel was polluted and poorly maintained, and the location is far from shops with few ways to get a ride. Basic facilities were awful, with no proper shower or reliable water for washing. The front desk is supposedly open 24 hours, but there was nobody around when we arrived and we couldn’t even check in. This place ruined what had been a good trip and turned my holiday into a nightmare. I regret booking it. 😭😭😭

Deva was nice, and the AC worked. The place is right by the water, though it’s a 10 minute moped ride to town. The rooms were badly worn, with stained sheets, a door that barely stayed on and a bathroom toilet that hardly flushed. I got two bottles of water on day one, then nothing else, even after asking, and no fresh towels during my three-night stay. There didn’t seem to be housekeeping. Breakfast was one menu item, fried rice in my case, tasty but a small portion. On our last day, before the Komodo cruise, they said breakfast started at 7am, but I couldn’t find staff until 7.50am, too late for them to make it. The wifi barely reached the room.

The setting is fantastic for relaxing and spending time, and the food was good. I’d rate the location 4 stars. I had a great break at Waecicu Beach Inn, although it felt quite pricey. The inn is outdated and not well run. Rooms were uncomfortable, with no hot water or TV and lots of mosquitoes. The receptionist leaves in the evening and wasn’t very responsive to questions.

We booked 5 rooms, and the live band was good, with great singers and friendly staff. The rooms were in poor shape, though: stained sheets, a broken shower head, toilets that didn’t work and faulty doors. Each room got 2 towels, 2 bottles of water, 2 toothbrushes, shower gel and shampoo. There were no kettles or cups, but the restaurant would give you hot water for your own cup noodles. The restaurant closed early, and after 10pm we couldn’t find any hotel staff. It was quiet and dark at night. I wouldn’t recommend it for families unless the rooms and security improve.
