Happy Penida Hostel

Sakti made our week on the island easy and stress-free. We dealt with him a lot, and even when we had a bank issue, he helped us get there without hassle. He was always cheerful and ready with advice. Ask him about a scooter, ferry tickets or anything else, and you’ll get a fair price and a smiling face.

The staff are really helpful, but there are better, cleaner hostels for the same price in Nusa Penida. This place is okay if you just need one night near the harbour where some boats from Bali arrive, though not all of them. The rooms are cramped, the toilets are unclean, and the Wi-Fi is poor, so don’t expect to work here. Check out Gendhong hostel. It’s beside the harbour where boats leave Penida. Yes, there are two harbours on the island.

The guys out front are great and will help with whatever you need. The rooms are okay, nothing fancy, but fine for sleeping, especially for the price. There was no toilet paper, though, and there’s no kitchen. It’s not really a social place.

It’s very close to the pier, and the rooms are reasonably okay for the price. The charging points work, and there’s one toilet and shower in the dorm room plus two toilets outside. The host is incredibly chill and seems like a nice guy. Valuables safety is a serious issue. Several of us had things stolen from our beds or bags. Some people lost money, and someone stole my fanny pack from my bed. There are no CCTV cameras. When I reported it, the host didn’t seem too concerned and just nodded, which was my only gripe with him. Otherwise, he’s a stellar guy.
