Those grounds are something else, with epic walls, beautiful pools, incredible construction and weird, wonderful statues tucked out back. The rooms are spacious and the value is decent. Breakfast is fine, and service is generally average. Don’t count on getting a better rate by booking direct, though. The booking sites quoted less and the hotel reluctantly matched them. This was our second stay. We checked in around 9 or 10 p.m., and it took a while for them to find our booking. The bathroom smelled pretty bad, the electric jug didn’t work, and the shower water wasn’t hot. The town is very touristy, and people commonly tout products and services. I’d still stay here again. Renting the whole place for a wedding or other event would be off the chain.

Getting to the port was easy, just a short walk, which was great since we were heading to other islands. The host made everything smooth and stress-free, arranging our transfers and ferry tickets and always being friendly and ready to help. We didn’t have to worry about a thing. Amazing stay, and huge thanks to the host for making our trip so enjoyable. Definitely recommend!

We could check in at 10 a.m. after arriving early, which was a big help. After a long flight, they offered us breakfast when we arrived. The rooms were large, basic but clean and comfortable, with pleasant surroundings and three pools. It’s just 100 m from the ferry departure and very reasonably priced. The people were great to deal with and sorted our airport pickup, transfer and ferry tickets. Communication was fabulous. There’s a fabulous, cheap local dinner at Martini’s around the corner. Great overnight stay, highly recommend.

The atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant, and everything seemed well maintained. The staff were kind, attentive and always willing to help, so we felt welcome right away at Puri Rai Hotel in Padang Bai. Thanks for such a lovely time. We’d love to return. Best regards, David & Saskia.

The beds were comfortable, the pools were nice, and both the restaurant and breakfast were okay. No TV, and the hot water only worked in the morning, not at night. Be sure to look for the insanely nice sculptures out back.
