Villa Melissa

Luxe Nomad canceled our Villa Melissa booking at the last minute, after holding our money for over a year. We ended up choosing another beachfront place recommended by Geria Bali the day before departure. It was a nerve-racking scramble for a stay advertised as luxury. They first offered Villa Ambra and called it an upgrade, with no extra charge. We checked the two villas and the prices right away, and Ambra was clearly cheaper. They offered no refund for the downgrade. We also found a promotion on Ambra, pay for three nights and stay four. Luxe Nomad manages both villas, but never mentioned it. Even after we raised the price difference and the promotion, they kept insisting Ambra was an upgrade, despite their own website showing otherwise. We contacted several agencies after the cancellation. Geria Bali found Villa Ambra for 37% less than Luxe quoted, even with the promotion, as shown in the screenshot. We felt they were trying to keep the difference while moving us to a lower-priced villa. There were too many red flags for us to go ahead. Communication had already been slow. It took two weeks to get an answer about a crib, then another week to reach the onsite manager Reevo. We had been coordinating with Reevo about our arrival and event details for three weeks, right up until the night before the cancellation. He didn't know it had been canceled until we told him. We were told the owners had decided to extend their stay because of construction next door, but nobody explained why our booking was canceled so late. We suspect the owners simply chose to stay longer. We never heard from them or got a proper explanation. Luxe Nomad's last message just said our refund was there and to let them know if we needed anything else. Dishonest, and they treated us like idiots. Absolutely vile. Don't do it.
