The gardens are nicely cared for, though the pool gets full sun and the water is very warm. There was lots of green slime along the infinity edge, and the bottom definitely needed a good vacuum. My breakfast was very nice, but the menu is extremely limited, and the girls serving us didn’t seem especially friendly. It felt as if we were creating work for them. At first glance the room looked presentable and the bed was comfortable. Then we noticed a massive patch of mold on the bathroom ceiling. I know it was the end of a very wet season, but it still looked bad. The laundry basket was moldy around the top, too, and the desk chair had a broken leg. My wife nearly fell when it gave way. Everything was acceptable overall, but the place needs some work. With new units being built at the back of the property, I hope they clean up the other rooms. At least the garden was pleasant.

The rooms were nice and clean, and the open garden has a great view. Lovely location.

We’ve stayed at Damar Sanjaya seven times now and always enjoy coming back. Gede, the owner, wants to make sure guests have a good stay, and the staff are friendly, obliging, and positive when we ask for something. The pool and gardens are lovely, with gorgeous mountain views. Our room faces the pool. It’s a good size and quiet, with plenty of cupboard space, plus a private balcony and lounging chair. The hotel isn’t in central Amed, but the beach and lots of good restaurants are a short walk away. The little cafe at the front also serves good food at reasonable prices. Damar Sanjaya is good value, and we’ll keep staying here when we visit Amed.

Really nice, clean place with big, comfortable rooms. The service is lovely. I’d recommend it 100%.
