Sammy Cottage Senggigi

We felt like part of a family here, and five weeks still felt too short. The staff were incredibly kind, helpful, and friendly, and the atmosphere was very homely. It’s a simple little hotel near Senggigi, with air conditioning but no luxury touches. There’s no room safe, coffee maker, or kettle, though everyone can use the large refrigerator in the breakfast area, and water is always available free of charge. Breakfast is basic but enough. The Piyas Nasi Goreng was always delicious, and the fruit cocktails were tasty. Thanks to all the staff, and especially Sammy 🫶! Best wishes from Brigitte and Manni. We’ll be back!

A quiet, cozy place with friendly staff. A woman prepared breakfast personally for all the guests, and it was really tasty. The bathroom was large and clean, and the bed was comfortable. We did notice a few tiny ants in the bed, but it wasn’t a real problem, and we couldn’t tell if they came with us or crawled in from outside. A lovely stay for a very good price.

The room was clean and roomy, the air conditioning worked brilliantly, and the location was handy, with a shop about a 5 minute walk away. Staff were accommodating and helpful. We rented a scooter there too, nearly new and only 7 AUD a day. We only ate breakfast once because we like going out for it, but it was tasty and convenient. We stayed 4 nights. The nearby mosques mean the call to prayer can be really loud at 4:50 AM and again through the day. There was no room cleaning during our stay, so even a quick floor sweep, empty bin, and fresh towels would have helped, though the low price makes up for that. We were in room 4 at the front, where the bed faces reception and the breakfast area, so the blinds had to stay closed all day. If that would bother you, ask for a different room.
