Kuwarasan A Pramana Experience Hotel

The staff made us feel so welcome, always checking that we were comfortable and greeting us with a lovely smile. It’s a peaceful spot, yet only 15 minutes from the city. We couldn’t use the pool because it poured throughout our stay, though it looked stunning. The traditional rooms have loads of charm, and there’s a wonderful gym and a beautiful yogashala where I enjoyed an early morning yoga session. Daily walks around the property and yoga lessons are offered too, which made the stay feel even more special.

The rice field walk in the morning is really good, so don’t miss it. The hotel also offers yoga classes and a photography session advertised as complimentary, though it isn’t quite free in the full sense: you only get one digital photograph at no cost. Kuwarasan sits among lush rice fields while still being close to the main market. Our room was large and clean, and they surprised us with flower decorations in the room and bathtub. The staff were very sweet, and we had a pleasant stay with a good vibe and a great location.

The gym was the one thing that didn’t quite match the rest of the hotel, though even having one in Indonesia is unusual. Everything else, from the food and facilities to the atmosphere and staff, was top notch. This was our favourite hotel of all the places we stayed in Asia. The setting is tranquil, and the hotel has been put together beautifully, with every detail adding to the experience. A very special place. I’d give it six stars if I could.

Villa Sandat is beautifully private and tucked into nature, so it felt wonderfully relaxing. Waking to the sounds of the jungle each morning was a special part of our stay. We enjoyed several meals at the restaurant. The food was excellent, and the service was warm and welcoming. I also had a Balinese massage at the spa. The therapist was very skilled, and the whole treatment was deeply relaxing, just right for unwinding on holiday. A lovely place with great facilities and wonderful staff.
