D'Macho Villas Ubud

This villa isn’t like a five-star hotel, and it needs more attention to the details and maintenance. I found the staff friendly, though they could focus more on the little things. The breakfast was quite adequate, and they lent me a converter plug from three-pronged to two-pronged for free, which I appreciated. There are only three-pronged outlets otherwise. At 121.5$ US dollars, I think it’s only good for that price. For Arabs looking for recreation and high luxury, I wouldn’t recommend it. Some practical problems stood out: the pool filter was switched off and didn’t work, its lighting didn’t work at night, and the pool fountain was out of order. There was a bad smell from the sink, and no bathroom exhaust fan or odor extractor. The lounge chairs didn’t have foam cushions after swimming. Sound insulation between neighboring villas was very poor, so you could hear what was going on next door. There were lots of lizards at night, along with some insects, though a mosquito net was provided. The first villa I’ve rented, so I noticed these gaps in care.

The bumpy, narrow road leading to D'macho Villas didn’t cause any trouble for our drivers or Gojek deliveries, so it wasn’t a concern when booking. A nice touch was the filtered water dispenser outside. We spent four nights there, and the friendly staff were always ready to help. The Frangipani Room was gorgeous, with all the comforts and amenities we needed. Its spacious, comfy beds could be made up daily if we wanted. The pool was refreshing and just right for cooling off after long days exploring Ubud, though we wish we’d used it more. The villas have a guest-friendly layout and look lovely at night with the garden and pool lights on. Our stay was one of the highlights of the trip. We’d love to come back and can’t recommend D'macho Villas enough.

We rented a scooter from the villa, which made it easy to get around to all the places we wanted to visit. The center isn’t especially close, but the scooter worked well for us. My husband and I spent four nights at D’Macho villas for my birthday, and everything went great. Putu did all he could to make sure we had a good time. The staff were lovely, especially the two young boys, and they surprised me with a cake and room decorations. I was so happy with it. The room was clean and spacious, the bed comfortable, and the balcony view with the pool was amazing for breakfast or enjoying the evening.

The private pool and great rooms were a real plus, and the staff were very nice. It is a little way from the center, though.
