The view from our room was lovely, and the location was handy, with restaurants and convenience stores nearby. We stayed as a couple for six nights, but I wouldn’t recommend a longer visit here. The family were always cheerful, kind, and friendly, and we’re grateful for their hospitality. The male owner, though, made us uncomfortable. He delivered breakfast without saying hello, even when we greeted him, and after a while we stopped trying. His moods seemed to swing between smiling and arrogant. When I asked him about the unreliable Wi-Fi, he got irritated and didn’t help. He muttered something in the local language, which may have been an insult, and it left a bad impression. The Wi-Fi was extremely unstable, so this place isn’t suitable if you need to work on a laptop. The room wasn’t cleaned at all during our stay, and the bath towels weren’t changed. Dust and rubbish had collected in tucked-away spots, especially inside the bedside lamp, which felt unhygienic. There was no refrigerator. The hot shower worked, but the water ran out quickly. Breakfast came without a drink, and the quality varied. It also arrived later each morning. By the end, it was nearly half an hour late, and he didn’t start making it until we reminded him. On our last day it was 50 minutes late, so we had to change our plans. There were lots of dogs around the guesthouse, and they regularly left droppings on the narrow road leading there. It was covered in dog mess every day, and even though we watched where we stepped, we still stepped in fresh droppings. It was awful. The owner seemed to take his role for granted. For our peace of mind, I’d avoid staying here for long.

I only booked Putra homestay for a week at first, then stayed two more. The family were gentle, kind, and always ready to help. They even brought me to their own village for a traditional celebration. Mornings were a highlight: from the room, I could watch the sunrise over the field, with the mountain off to the side. Having coffee and a favorite song while watching it made it easy to forget work stress and just enjoy the holiday. The room was simple, clean, peaceful, and had AC. The bathroom and WC were good too. I’d recommend staying here.

The rooms are worth the price, and breakfast is available if you want it. There’s no choice about what’s served, though, so it’ll suit you if you like traditional Indonesian food. The kitchen is shared by the hosts and guests. The rooms are upstairs, but downstairs smells so bad of open drains that we had to hold our breath. The narrow road barely fits one scooter, and it has open drains and animal poop all over it. In the mornings, drainage water overflows onto the road. The host’s family live downstairs with two dogs and a guinea pig, and the animals smell bad too. For the price, the stay was nice.

We were so happy with our 10 days here, and would gladly return if we come back to Ubud. In seven months of travel, this was one of the best places we stayed. The owners were very friendly, and renting a scooter was easy. The owners prepared a different breakfast each morning, and we enjoyed it. The kitchen was large and very clean, so we cooked there many times. There were supermarkets, ATMs, restaurants, and small warungs nearby, and we loved the local market. By scooter, it took 15-20 minutes to reach the center, about 30 minutes to the Tegallalang rice terraces, and 15-30 minutes to the waterfalls. We loved the quiet, natural setting and the balcony. The rice field view, sunrise, and sight of the volcano were breathtaking. Our bed was large and comfortable, and the spacious, very clean bathroom had a refreshing hot shower. The only real issue was the Wi-Fi. It didn’t work well, so we had to use our data for laptop work. Thanks so much for a lovely stay!

A local family hosts this Airbnb above their home. The rooms are nicely furnished, with a peaceful, quiet feel and a wonderful 180° view over Ubud’s rice fields. There are three lovely dogs, and the family are friendly and ready to help. A supermarket and other essentials are nearby, and the prices are very reasonable. I’d definitely recommend coming here.
