I was the only guest there, so it felt like being a VIP. The staff were incredibly sweet and the service was truly excellent. Breakfast arrived beautifully prepared in my room, and everything was clean and tidy. I had a wonderful stay and recommend it to everyone.

The balcony room had a superb view, with the occasional surprise monkey visit, and the location was great. WiFi was weak, but everything else was absolutely perfect. The place is lovely, run by lovely people, and very clean. Thanks to the team for taking care of us! 💕

That narrow path from the main road is the only minor hassle. It runs around 100-200 meters and is wide enough for a scooter or two, but not a car, so carrying luggage to and from the road takes some effort. It’s not a deal breaker, though. Otherwise, Gerhana Sari 2 bungalows is a calm, quiet, no-frills place I’d highly recommend. My wife, our three-year-old, and I stayed for two days. The brothers who run it are extremely polite, reasonable, and supportive, and can arrange cab shuttles around Bali. They set up my airport transfer when I requested it through booking.com. The premises and rooms were exceptionally clean, and there’s a simple, inexpensive breakfast menu with 4-5 good options. A small pool sits next to a paddy field. The place is near central Ubud but far enough from the noisy pubs on the main road. Restaurants, pubs, bike rentals, and money exchanges are just a few minutes’ walk away. Ubud palace, Saraswati temple, the monkey forest, and other attractions are under 10 minutes away by scooter.

One thing I noticed after using the towels: let them dry outside, even overnight, instead of leaving them in the room. The brothers work hard all day and you can tell they care about the place. They’re kind, humble, and always helpful, and they clean daily. The facilities are great, and there’s nothing to complain about when it comes to cleanliness. Breakfast was included, and we ordered an extra one each morning for 35k IDR per meal, which was very affordable. I’m not exaggerating, these were some of the best scrambled eggs I’ve had. A very pleasant stay, absolutely recommended. Thanks for a wonderful experience! 🙏🏼
