The hosts were the real highlight. Ayu treated me like family from the moment I arrived, checked that I was doing okay, made wonderful breakfasts, and helped arrange a cooking class. Her pancakes are the best in the world, and I felt genuinely cared for. Even traveling solo, I never felt lonely, there was always someone to talk with or a cute cat to cuddle. This is someone’s home, shared with guests, and they’re happy to welcome you into their family and tell you about Bali’s beauty, history, and culture. The property is lovely, full of plants and wildlife. The rooms are huge and had everything I needed. My bed was large and on the firm side, which suited me. The road was quiet, so traffic didn’t bother me, and Ubud central was very close and easy to reach on foot. I booked Jero Griya for the location and its great reviews, and wasn’t disappointed at all. Thank you for sharing your home and life with me. I valued my stay more than I can say and can’t wait to visit again.

The property has 14 rescued cats, and counting. They’re gentle, friendly, and adorable, so even if cats aren’t usually your thing, you may fall for them. The host was incredibly welcoming, and the food from the kitchen was excellent. It’s in a peaceful, quiet neighborhood, but close enough to walk into downtown. A perfect place to begin a stay in Ubud.

Ayu made my time in Ubud special. From the first day, I felt welcomed, and as a solo traveler I felt safe. Coming back after a day out felt like returning to family. The atmosphere was always warm and cozy, and I could feel how much care and love Ayu puts into the place and her guests. I admire all she does. I even got a little teary when it was time to leave. My room was cleaned daily, and the water was filtered, which was a big plus for me. I was comfortable throughout my stay. I originally picked this place because I’d seen so many good reviews from Korean travelers. I figured they were detail-oriented in a good way, so I trusted their opinions. Ayu and Agung were kind and attentive. The room was lovely, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was very good too. The location is okay, about 1 km from central Ubud. They also have some really cute cats!

We had some lovely days at Jero Griya as a family. The rooms were excellent, and the beds were comfortable. Agung and Ayo are very nice people. Ubud market is an okay walk away, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. Hope we can come back sometime.
