Merthayasa Bungalow 2

We spent two nights here while visiting Ubud, and loved the beautiful grounds and well-prepared breakfast. One morning a Barong dance group was right outside the front door. The two sisters who run this family-owned hotel do a wonderful job, even making sure the nearby monkeys get fed at 3 am while handling all their other duties. The hosts also warmly invited us to join a ceremony at their family temple. We felt deeply honoured to share time with them during the Kuningan celebration. Highly recommend this place.

We're back for a second stay, and the location is still a big part of the appeal. You get a quiet, tucked-away feeling, yet the center of Ubud is just a few steps away. The pool is lovely and breakfast is free. The family who own the place are so kind and friendly, and their dogs are adorable. We'll definitely return. Follow us @endoftheroadtravel for our vlogs.

The resident dogs, Atcha, Brownie and Molly, are what we'll genuinely miss most 🐶. The family who run the place and the staff are all so friendly and kind. Everything felt very Balinese, while still being clean and peaceful. Our room was spacious and just right, and we loved the pool and breakfast too. We had no complaints and would gladly stay again.

After a disappointing hotel stay in Ubud, I was lucky to find Merthayasa 2 Bungalows. The owners are friendly, the dogs are lovely, and the atmosphere was great. I met other solo travelers, relaxed by the pool, and they even made me a takeaway breakfast when I asked. It's conveniently near the Monkey forest and not far from Ubud Palace. The one drawback was mold in the shower, so the bathrooms could use some reconstruction. Still, I'd recommend it to anyone looking to get away from Ubud's crowds.
